Our services aim to support you in giving the best possible support to people with PSP and CBD.

People with long term neurological conditions, such as PSP and CBD, benefit from a multi-disciplinary team approach, from diagnosis to end of life care.

Information Resources

Our information resources are designed to help you provide the best possible support to people with PSP and CBD.

Much of our literature is available to download in the Publications Section. Some, such as the full Carers' Information Pack, is provided upon becoming a member of The PSP Association.

Extracts from our DVD ‘A Physician's Guide to PSP', produced jointly with the USA society, CurePSP, can be viewed online here.

Guides for Professionals

We are producing a series of Guides to PSP for specific health and social care professionals, starting with Occupational Therapists. Our latest Guide, for GPs and Community Nurses, is now available. Copies of all our new Guides for Professionals will eventually be available to download from this site.

Specialist Advice

Maggie on phone - web.jpgOur team of Nurse Specialists are at the end of a phone or email.  They can advise you on all aspects of PSP and CBD including symptom control, practical management, improving quality of life, clinical research, developing services and signposting to other care providers. They can give specialist input into client assessments.

The telephone helpline operates 7 days a week with an answerphone service where, if the nurse is unavailable at the time, she can contact you as soon as possible.

Teaching Sessions and Clinics

Various events are held to educate and support those working with people affected by PSP and CBD, including our annual Symposium for carers and therapists.

Teaching Session - web.jpgFor forthcoming local events in your area, and details of your local Nurse Specialist, view our Local Support section.

Our Nurse Specialists give talks on aspects of PSP and CBD.  They also attend a growing number of PSP or movement disorder clinics.  To arrange a talk or to discuss potential involvement in a clinic in your area, contact your local Nurse Specialist.

Continuing Professional Development

We are registering with respective bodies to ensure that all our educational opportunities contribute to your continuing professional development.  Attendance certificates will be provided at all events organised wholly, or partly, by The PSP Association. Our annual Symposium has been accredited by the Royal College of Nursing.
