Make an Olympian effort in 2012 to fund vital research

The theme for Awareness Week 2012 is 'A Million to Beat PSP' and we hope that all our supporters will join us in raising money to fund more research in to PSP and CBD.

The campaign will be launched on 22nd April when over 100 PSPA runners will be taking part in Virgin London Marathon and raising funds to kick start the .

We need your help to make this campaign a success so please support 'A Million to Beat PSP' in whatever way you can - and there are lots of ways you, your family and friends can get involved.

It's not just about raising money, although we need more funds to invest in the vital research and find a way to beat PSP and CBD, it's also about raising awareness of PSP and CBD and the need of more research.

Please help us make an noise and raise funds - not just during awareness week but throughout the year by supporting 'A Million to Beat PSP'!

Your support is vital to our quest to one day beat PSP

Why do we need 'A Million to beat PSP'?

Groundbreaking research is crucial to the discovery of treatments and a cure, for PSP and Cortico Basal Degeneration (CBD).

The PSP Association funds a dedicated research centre at the Institute of Neurology in London and a variety of projects examining all aspects of these diseases, lead by specialist scientists using cutting-edge technology.

Researcher, Dr Selina Wray wants to understand the differences between PSP and other disorders.

"This is an important area of research and one where progress is being made all of the time - the recent study showing new genetic risk factors for PSP is a huge step forward. The next challenge is to understand how these genetic risk factors make people more likely to develop PSP."

The PSPA needs to continue critical research, like that of Dr Wray, but can only do so with your help.
