Founder and Life President

Michael Koe founded The PSP Association in 1994 with his wife Sara, was Chief Executive from 1994 - 2007 and Chairman of Trustees from 2007 - 2010.

General The Lord Guthrie of Craigiebank GCB LVO OBE

President

Lord Guthrie, formerly Chief of the UK Defence Staff and Chief of the General Staff (Head of the Army), is currently Colonel of the Life Guards and Colonel Commandant of the SAS. Lord Guthrie became President of The PSP Association in 2004.

Vice-President

Lord Coe is Chairman of the London Organising Committee for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Lord Coe became President of The PSP Association’s Marathon Committee when he was an MP in 1994, and later a Vice-President of the charity.

Professor Colin Blakemore FRS

Vice-President

Professor Blakemore is Professor of Neuroscience at the Universities of Oxford and Warwick. He also holds a Professorship at the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School in Singapore. From 2003-2007 he was Chief Executive of the Medical Research Council. Professor Blakemore became a Vice-President of The PSP Association in 2004.

Sir Michael Carleton-Smith CBE DL

Vice-President

Sir Michael Carleton-Smith was Director General of Marie Curie Cancer Care. He was Founder Vice-Chairman of the National Hospice Council and was knighted for services to cancer care in 1996. Sir Michael was one of the original Trustees of The PSP Association, became Chairman of Trustees in 2001 and a Vice-President in 2007.
